Like topic says is there anyway to boost a wireless Router Signal? I have the LinkSys WRT54G model and my computer room is getting a low signal, however its only about 23-25yards away (as I walk). For example would upgrading firmware help? any ideas is appreciated. TIA

just put some tin foil on your antenna to make better range, It will save some money. ;)

Hehe pretty sure aluminium foil will block out your frequencies and actually decrease your range.. on the other hand if you used the foil to form a parabola with the antenna in the focus and aiming in the direction of the device in need, you might be able to gain some power.

can't beleive noone mentioned this... that particular model can be boosted with upgraded firmware....

http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=8

Download the one for just the G and not the GS... flash your firmware and in one of the advanced tabs you can boost the output power... done this a buncha times... stock is 28ma and I have run them way up to 70ish... any more than that and they will lock up(max is 84) you will NOT beleive the difference places before where signal was low will now be very good and places where you had NO signal will now be usable...

I am hereby sending you there but there is no warrenty implied with this upgrade :D

BUT never had any problems here....
