I pretty much grasp most of the guts of the Windows 7 operating system... configuring it and optomizing it (group policy editor, etc). One of the biggest thing that has always thrown me off (ever since Vista was created) were premissions, credentials, users, and groups. Does anybody know of a good book or really good online resource that explains it in depth, but easy to understand? I don't know why I have such a problem with it... but it's so confusing to me, when hardly anything else is. Thanks guys.. any help is always appreciated.

Your best bet with understanding share permissions and user accounts and groups would be to look at the Microsoft certifications and books. The one you're looking for is 70-680 which is Windows 7.

Here's a book among many:

Also, a lot of people use CBT Nuggets. I used them to help me with CompTIA Network+ Certification
