BOINC Setup

well the hardware acceleration programs are turned off. but it still choppy. the major reason for going with mw was the support for the 5870. with that work units just plow thru. turing it off well it multiples time slower and don't really like that. after all might as well use the $400 gpu for some good other than games. thanks for other two project will check them out.

How much ram are you pushing in that system? Is it the one in your sig?

Remember that the strength of the BOINC client is its ease of setup and its simplicity. Dont make it more complex than necessary. ;)

Install, OC, leave alone unless you need to suspend it a little while. :) Rinse and repeat.

The BOINC client always gets CPU units for Milkyway@home. How do I stop that? I've got the tasks suspended for the moment, but they bug me and interfere with the amount of queued work I can have.

you have to go to the Milkyway@home website and login to your account. There you will find your MW preferences (i think thats what its labeled) and there are checkboxes for GPU WUs and CPU WUs. Just uncheck the CPU WUs.
