BodyCam

So, different than Unrecord?

I had seen both of these projects at different points, but wasn't entirely sure at first whether they were going for the same thing or not. Both are pretty similar at first glance but I hadn't been closely following either because they were still WIP.

Yes, this is a PvP game while Unrecord is single player.

Oh! I see that now on the store page. Thanks for the clarification. I'll be more interested in Unrecord then, but curious to see how this one will turn out regardless.

It's out tomorrow or is says June 7th the problem with these realistic games is controversy.

Played a bit, refunded. It's not really for me, runs well and looks as good as it can through the lens of a bodycam but it only has FSR/TSR, no DLSS means poorer upscaling/AA efficiency. And the control "lag" by design of the POV the camera is means it's not really fun after the novelty of "Bodycam" wears off which is 5 mins.

Just got the game and I love it. Anyone else still playing it?

Bought this game a couple weeks ago. Was fun for an hour or two but honestly feels like a half assed unreal mod from the 2000s

I think COD and BF will be left behind by games like this in the next 10 years.

COD 4 was renowned for it's (at the time) realism and competitive balance including realistic (for the time) tradeoffs. Now the run+Gun bunnyhop rambo antics look like UT2K4 by comparison to this game.

This game takes that to another level.

I wonder if they'll include an option to disable the camera jiggle. Obviously it's a large part of the realism schtick and looks good in videos but will put off anyone sensitive to motion sickness. The sound propagation was a neat devlog.

It's going to be nearly impossible to add an accessibility setting for reduced camera sway while ALSO keeping balance and maintaining their "wait is that real?" level of graphical fidelity.

If there's an option to disable it: It will add a competitive advantage.
If it has a competitive advantage: Everyone will use it
If everyone uses it: Might as well not have had camera sway in the first place.

So the accessibility option is "don't play this", unfortunately.

Hmm, looking through the Steam discussions seems there is actually an option to disable camera shake but users have said an issue is there are still delays to input vs on-screen animations like aiming which still causes motion sickness (one user plays at 140FPS and still had it).
