I have a REALLY old computer that has RGB BNC outputs to a ginormous monitor. I want to replace the monitor with something newer, but I can't find any RGB BNC to VGA adapters. I can find RGBHV to VGA adapters, but the computer doesn't have H-V/V. Would these 5 BNC to VGA adapters work?

What you have is a Sync On Green setup... Its VGA compatible, mostly... The H/V sync signals are combined onto the G line. A passive adapter will not work. You need a active converter to demux the H/V sync signals from the green line and output them separately

However, a good number of PC monitors DO support Sync On Green! In that case then one of those RGBHV to VGA cables will work just fine, just connect the RGB lines and plug it in. Leave the HV lines hanging... Here: http://playstation2-linux.com/sog.php is a nice database of monitors that support Sync On Green. Also on that page is a few other ways to tell if your monitor supports SOG.

Remember that if you use a RGBHV to VGA cable, your monitor will need to be of the type with a detachable VGA cable.... Or you'll need a adapter to connect Male to Male cables together.
