I just bought a NEC/Mitsubishi 930sb and a Radeon 9600XT 256MB (Sapphire). I plugged everything in, 1024 x 768 - beautiful, 1280 x 1024 - awe inspiring, clear, bright, vibrant. 1600 x 1200, blurry corners. It's doing a 85hz refresh, but its the same result at lower rates. I have my old monitor, an Optiquest (Viewsonic) 17" as a 2nd display using the DVI->VGA dongle output. Would that cause it, maybe something with 2 monitors on using the RAMDAC?

I was really hoping for more out of this higher end monitor. The business class Hitachi I use at work does 1600x1200 @ 75hz and is clear as day.

Any suggestions, or could it be a faulty monitor?

Didn't know about focus knobs, I'll have to look for em when I get home. I saw someone else say something about them on their 21" NEC.

Must... get... home.... ack...

Should be 2 holes on the left side of your monitor. They are more pots than knobs. You'll need a 5-6in shanked #1 philips screw driver. Most people don't have that laying around. I was able to fit a #2 philips in the top pot, but the bottom pot only seemed to work with a #1, because the pot wasn't on center with the hole. This is on my nec2141, but i assume it is similar on the 930.

Found the knobs. If I change these, does it change the focus for all the resolutions? 1600x1200 and up is when it get's blurry.

Yes it changes focus at all resolutions. If the problem is with your monitor then it is blurry at all resolutions, but is only noticable at higher ones. I know my monitor looked fine w/ factory settings at 1280x1024, but anything higher required me to refocus it. There is a chance your gfx card just isn't powerful enough or the monitor cable can't handle the signal as well. However, it would most likely be out of focus in the center as well. So you need to adjust the focus, and yes it will effect all resolutions, but all your resolutions are probably out of focus, just with the larger icons/text size you can't tell.
