Bluray Issue

I recently purchased my first bluray player (LG ethernet model ) and hooked it up to a new Vizio lcd. I get great video but no audio. I have checked the settings to make sure everything is correct with hdmi and it is. Finally got it to work but everytime the bluray is powered off, I have no sound again.

Everything plays fine in AV mode.

Anyone have any suggestions, maybe the cheap hdmi cord I purchased or am I missing something.

Appreciate any help

If the audio worked at least at one point, you can rule out that the cheap HDMI cable you purchased is the issue. :)

So.. from what I guess, is that by default your blu-ray player is sending out uncompressed audio via hdmi, when it should be sending dolby digital or dts to your TV so that the TV can make sense of the audio format. Fool around in the blu-ray player menu and try to find something to set the default audio format to dolby digital (5.1).

Lemme know if this helps. :)
