Is there any chance of getting a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD sub forum somewhere? Where we can discuss titles, their releases, video quality and such.

It's great when people can offer comparisons and reviews on the picture quality, audio quality and such, like on blu-ray.com.

Home Theater Section. That's probably as close as is going to come to a dedicated section, as it's not necessarily "computer hardware."

I know Kyle or MajorDomo will give you the final answer soon though!

Not to promote other forums, but the AVSforum.com site has some great HD-DVD/Blu-Ray forums.

I would like to see some dedicated to HD here at the [H], but at AVS they have a lot more traffic specific to the subject... I mean that is pretty much really targeted to the home theater market, rather than PC's and hardware...

If both are going to exist there could be two separate subforums like AMD and Intel or Nvidia and ATI.

HD DVD side: ok, here's the sales stats for standalone units only <inserts stat numbers>
Blu-ray side: omg well liek we have PS3 too!! There's a billion out there!
HD DVD side: oh, we have Toshiba players and the 360 standalone which is only designed for HD DVD playback and not gaming
Blu-ray side: OMG I H8 YOU!? BR is better!?!? <inserts fud from blu-ray.com forums>

There, I just summed up what the forum would be like for you. Soak it up. I doubt the forums would be successful here. I mean, just look at the whole Phenom vs. Q6600 arguments. They are both high performing processors that are within ~10% of each other price/performance wise, and people are going nuts.

I wasn't talking about the comparative formats. I was talking about forums to discuss the movies, quality, audio, etc. Much like blu-ray.com has user reviews so I know as others can know, what movies got sucky transfers and aren't worth buying on Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. As well as audio quality, extras, etc.

To avoid all of the above crap, they could do much like they do in the video card forum - two sub-forums.

Exactly. Intel vs AMD and Nvidia vs ATI is STILL (and always will be) a debate between some people but that doesn't mean we can't have a forum on them. Subforums FTW.

I'm for this idea, if you can't tell. ;)
