Bluetooth earpiece recommendations?

Let me start off by saying that my previous earpiece is a Jawbone 2. I liked it. The fit was good, I found it easy to use, and the battery life was within my range, as well as talk time.

Aaaaaand I lost it. Searching high and low has turned up with nothing. No matter, as the talk time on it has significantly dropped since I first got it anyway, and it'd put up a fight with pairing/reconnecting to my phone, so I figure it's about time to get a new one anyhow.

That being said, what would be on par or better than the Jawbone 2?

Best BT headset I've ever used is the Plantronics Voyager Legend. I've had it for a few months. It's got unmatched audio, voice controls, battery life. Only drawback is its size.

One day, some company will pack all the Voyager Legend's capabilities into something the size of a Jawbone Icon. That will be a great day, indeed.

personally, i'm waiting for a BT4.0 bluetooth headset that should be coming very soon after Android 4.3.

Another vote for the Voyager line. last one I used was the Voyager Pro+ (same basic form factor as the above pic) but it was amazing.

I've been rocking the SoundID 510 for the last year or so and no complaints. Its very small and great audio. Im not sure if they still make it or not though.

Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth Headset. Been using it now for almost 2 years, and its still going strong. Best earpiece i've used so far.

Used jawbones for years.
Last one I purchased I found a white box for 59.00
Came with all ear attachments. Works great.
Beats the shit outta the over 100.00 price I used to pay.
I would google jawbone again and see if u could find it.
Just did that and saw one on amazon.

My friend likes the Plantronics Discovery 975 with the mobile charging station (external battery pack). He has tried something like 10 different BT headsets by now. He doesn't care for additional features. He just wanted something compact, comfortable, and functional. He is a phone-junkie, in my opinion. He uses a Samsung GS4, for reference.

He claims that the Jawbone series doesn't work well for him - that people cannot hear him too well. He admits, however, that it may be because he doesn't have much of a jaw.

Perhaps I wouldn't have that issue because my jaw is well-defined, but I know his unit works well because I talk to him frequently.

I'll probably pick one up soon...I've gone w/o BT this entire time because I don't use my phone much.

I found that the Jabra Motion has BT4.0. But if you go deep into the reviews for it, people still like the Plantronics Voyager Legend more. BT4.0 allowed Jawbone to create a smaller, slicker, and lighter device due to using a smaller battery, but the microphone seems to be not as good although still one of the best. The worst of the Jabra Motion is that the touch sensitive and the "motion" controls don't work consistently; CNET can't get any motion controls to work, and ask the question of why this is called Motion...

Don't have any recommendations, but I will say to avoid the Motorolla HX550. A few months after I got it started to randomly disconnect from my phone in the middle of calls. Motorola customer service was excellent with the warranty replacement, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.

The HX550 has some other annoying issues and I'll probably buy another brand when this one dies.

I have had the Jawbone ICON HD for awhile now, it is old but works okay. Interested in hearing about the Plantronics Voyager Legend vs. the Jawbone ERA.

I've owned both. I sold my Era along with my iPhone 4, back in March. I use my Legend all the time with my iPhone 5. To me, the Legend is far superior with voice commands and battery life.

A comparison chart can be seen here: http://versus.com/en/plantronics-voyager-legend-vs-jawbone-era

One complaint about the Legend is its earpiece. It's a simple circle gel that slips out of the ear easily. I fixed this by fitting a large Plantronics 975 gel (pic below) over the Legend's gel. Now, the fit in my ear is perfect. You can buy a 3-pack of them for a few bucks on eBay.

Thanks for the info. I am going to switch over to the Legend.
