blue screen on login

I just recently made a new computer and it ran fine until i put in a tdk cdrw.

amd athlon 3000+
asus a7n8x-e deluxe mobo
120 sata seagate hdd
windows xp

until i installed a new cdrom i started getting a blue screen when i logged onto my account. i managed to make it in sometimes and i get this error containing:

c:\windows\minidump\mini031404-14.dmp
c:\docume~1\rowell~1\locals~1\temp\wer1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

what has happened?? i cant even log on to my account w/o getting a bluescreen plz help
