If the first fan in a stacked fan configuration encounters resistance, the second fan will assist it, thus in this configuration the same amount of air is moved, even against considerable resistance, like a restricted air intake or exhaust duct.

ya i guess that is true in some ways... that is why i say you have to try and find the best in/out because if you have too much of either you create resistance and those other fans just work harder but dont really do the sucking/blowing all that they can...

i noticed this by feeling the blowing air on a fan when the case was closed then when you open it it was much stronger in blowing... guess that pretty much means there wasnt enough intake... and too much out-take
