A friend of mine on his forum with the username nertil1 told me that he can't post on any thread or start a thread. Has he been banned?

No he isn't banned. In fact he logged on yesterday around 10PM.

His account had been reset to inactive, but he's good to go now. Next time, just use PMs instead.
