Block Colour Screen When Starting Games

Hey there,

Okay, so, I've had a new 260 216 arrive from EVGA today, replacing my dead one.

All seemed to be going fine, except as soon as I started a game I got a black screen. Alright, not a major issue.

I used Driver Sweep, cleaned out all the nVidia drivers, reinstalled the latest. This is Windows 7 32-bit. I downloaded the latest today. They're 185.85 or something like that.

The problem persisted. I first tried Prototype, which resulted first in a black screen after about 20 seconds in the menu. I had to turn off my PSU to get it to boot again. Again, I tried Prototype, and this time I got a sort of peach colour. Switched off the PSU, tried TF2. I got black, tried again, red. The colours cover the ENTIRE screen. In TF2 I could actually load the level and get in for about 20 seconds or so before it happened.

I should also mention there are NO problems at desktop, and for the brief moments I saw TF2 running there were no graphical defects. The screen simply flashes and then gives me the block colour.

So! Any ideas? I'm thinking it might be my PSU, and I'll try switching that out. I replaced one of the PCI-E connectors with a two-4-pin-to-PCI-E thing, but still no dice. Preparing to rip out a PSU from another computer to test.

But I'm looking for any advice. Anyone seen this problem before?

Oh, and, the computer was running a 7800 for weeks, and has had a 8800 in it fine, running Win7.

Thanks for any help.
