Bleeding big water question

Picked up a big water to learn the basics of water cooling, really only have one major question for now, Basically, res cap on or off when trying to bleed the system of air? never said anything about it in the manual, and a google search didnt come up with anything... couldnt find one here either.

Also, has anyone ever used water wetter and distilled water in their systems? i use WW in my 4wheeler and think ill try it out when my coolant needs changing.
 
Water Wetter is one of the most widely used super coolants for WCing. It's literally the fluid that debuted with the first WCing systems ever. Pentosin Blue (or whatever colour) is more widely used, as it smells a hell of a lot nicer. As always a 95% Distilled to 5% Additive (or a 90% to 10% ratio for a deeper colour) is the general rule of thumb for wcing.

As for bleeding... I like to leave the cap off. That way the bubbles seem to coalesce more. A trick I found, is to leave any water additives out until the system is 98% bled, and fill the remaining air space with the additive. Most additives will foam up, making bleeding a living hell. So leave them out as long as you can.
 
Why does everyone put additives into their loop? ALL YOU NEED IS DISTILLED WATER!

If you can clean your components before installation, you'll have 100% clear tubes. Why do you want to stain your tubes and make the water thicker by adding crappy, unecessary additives like water-wetter, zerex, and AF?
 
I added Orange Dex-cool to my loop, I like to have different colours sometimes.

It used to be pink (Zerex)

Before that it was a faint blue.

Well, actually you just have to run the wc system without running the pc =] i put my new rig next to this one, and am using a molex connector from it to power the wc system in the new one. ive rocked the pc back and forth, wiggled the tubes where i saw a bubble, but mostly just let it run.

I always thought that the other reason for additives was to lubricate the pump mechanics so that it last longer?
