"Bleeding" backlight, possible solution

I was poking around the Dell 2001fp with backlight problems and noticed that by applying or relieving preassure at the affected corners I can eliminate or shift most of it. It is possible that all this unevenness is caused by the innacurate mounting inside the frame. I suspect that If the LCD panel is squeezed too much or the plastic is warped it will create effects like that. To test this theory I woiuld need to relieve the preassure on the panel by loosening the mounting to the frame. Anyone ever disassembled 2001fp? It doesn't look like it hase any screws so I assume it all snaps together. However I don't want to just pry it open as I'll sure break something. Any thoughts?
