Blacklight bleeding

Ok i own a dell 2405, i'm not sure if i have blacklight bleeding or is it my video card over heating. When this so call 'bleeding" occur, is it permanent or a come and go thing. And am i suppose to notice this while i'm in window desktop. Well i'm asking this is because whenever I play world of warcraft. I got this rainbow color thing on the bottom and right side of the screen. But when i alt tab out to desktop is gone and when i alt tab back into the game is still there. And this doesn't happen right away when i'm in game. It sorta come and go. So do you guys think is my LCD or videocard?
 
Hmmm, that's strange. I don't think it's backlight leaking though. Leaking is there all the time, it doesn't come and go, you can see it whenever the screen is dark. It also doesn't cause "rainbow" or color distortion, it just makes that area a lot lighter. Kinda like if u shined a flashlight at the edge of the screen.
What you're experiencing does sound more like a video card thing, but I wouldn't bet on it. It might as well be the monitor (but not bleeding) as sometimes I witnessed weird color distortions on TVs and CRT's (not on LCDs as I haven't used them too much).
 
My 9500@9700 Pro caused the same issue.. I forgot what driver it started in, but it didn't always happen. It doesn't happen as long as I don't alt-tab out of the game. Definitely not your monitor :)
 
alright, thanks for the info guys. I do have bleeding but only minor one, just not sure if i should put up the hassle of sending it back. I heard alot of ppl getting dead pixel with this LCD and mine doesn't have any. Can't see the bleeding unless the whole screen is pure black. Other then that is ok. I guess
 
I was going to get a 2005FPW, but I don't know if the potential for trouble is worth saving some money.. I may just suck it up and pay extra for the 20" apple cinema display instead.
