Anyone else getting this?...I just put my name on the email alert page on Verizon..cant wait.

^ I've been lusting over the Bold for some time now until i saw a size comparison next to the Curve. Then I saw the new Javelin and now praying that AT&T will eventually have that as part of their lineup.

I like my Curve. Just the right size for a full qwerty keyboard phone. But I don't use it to surf the net, unless I am on the WiFi. :)

Holy crap!! I never knew about the Javelin. That little beast is awesome!! F the Bold!! I just canceled my G1 pre-order. Gonna gets me a Javelin!!! Thanks for the tip!

EDIT: No 3G???? Premature G1 cancellation. :(

sorry about that man, i failed to mentioned that the Javelin does not come with 3G. I'm still wondering why would they even consider taking away that option, maybe it might overshadow the Bold's sales?

I've gotten used to the EDGE network and configured my settings to load pages pretty quick so 3G is not that important to me. We have random issues with 3G where I live so my wife's BlackJack 2 is constantly switching between 3G and EDGE.

The only cool thing that I see with 3G is cellular video, which is available only for 3G phones. Other than that I think I'll be alright with the Javelin.

Are you currently running OS 4.2? I'm still waiting for the supposedly official release of 4.5 from ATT that was supposed to be released yesterday. I'm running 4.5.....75 and it's great but the low volume issues with 4.5 is starting to bother me.

To the OP: sorry to hijack your thread man. The Thunder does look cool but i want to see more videos and pics of the vitual keyboard before i pass judgement.

No sweat, man. My contract is up in June '09, so I've got time to see what shakes out. No 3G for the Javelin is stupid. Whichever phone I choose next, 3G is a must for me. I'm curious if Curve sales have hurt the 8800 series. If so, that may be why the Bold is the only 3G Blackberry. Still, it's a stupid decision, if true.

I tried the 4.5 OS a few months ago and it crashed my 8320, so I'm back with 4.2.

EDIT: The Storm/Thunder has 3G, as well as the Bold which makes a Javelin sans 3G even MORE stupid.

Yeah I hear ya Mr. W. No 3G on the Javelin is a deal breaker for me. No 3G on the new Pearl 8220 either. I wonder what RIM is thinking?

It's the BlackBerry Storm and it recently came on my radar as my Verizon contract is almost up. I have to say, from the limited amounts of info out about it, it looks nice.

Below is a collection of stuff I've been able to scrape together on Storm picking around the internet.

I still am wondering how a Blackberry with a touch screen will fare on the market. I guess it will likely be popular with a younger target group. I don'tthink people who use Blackberrys for biz purposes will be interested.

Style of Apple with the functionality of RIM, yes please. The keyboard functionality looks pretty sweet.

Due to the fact that i just got my curve about 2 months ago. I wont be able to switch for another 22 months. Thats about the time when it should be released to sprint...

3g blackberry was wrestled out of rim by att, the top 3 priority for rim is reliability, stability, and security, as you can see, 3g is not on the list, they still prefer to release edge phones, not sure you guys read all the bugs with bold because they had to put 3g into it

as for verizon's evdo, they've been using evdo as far back as 05, so it's not an issue on evdo for a bb
