BlackBerry Bold 9650

Sup guys, i recently got my new blackberry bold 9650 and i keep hearing people talking about Blackberry OS 6.0. Does anyone know exactly when its supposed to come out for Verizon? Also anyone have any applications they recommend to download.

OS 6 has been released to the phone companies. It's up to them on when they want to release their version.

Some of my favorite apps: Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 (much better than older BB Browser), WeatherEye (for weather), Scoremobile (for watching sports scores), Poynt for local quick ref (uses GPS to find area gas stations/prices, theaters and restaurants and has white and yellow pages), Scanlife (for barcodes), Pandora and Iheartradio.

Unfortunately, there no new BB OS 6.0 specific apps yet. There's a shiny new OS but still the same old apps.

Here's what I have installed on the paltry 128MB of app memory on my Bold 9000:
- Flixster Movies (good, HQ movie trailers, reviews, showtimes, etc.)
- Player for Youtube (higher quality video streams than other youtube players)
- Blackberry Podcasts (it isn't obvious, but it does support 3rd party audio & video podcasts)
- Google Maps (new version with voice search works well!)
- Google Sync (sync my BB calendar with my google one and my exchange one)
- Opera Mini 5.1 (a little sluggish, but good for those times when the BB Browser utterly fails)
- Ebay app (for sniping the occasional auction)
- WeatherEye (lightweight weather app)
