I loved the first one but hated it at the same time but this one sounds like more carnage/rts. Watcha all think?
Take care :)

I was the same way. For whatever reason, my hard drive would always die on me, or something would happen late in the game, preventing me from getting any further. I also hated the way they forced you to go through the tutorial. Other than that, I loved the game a bunch.

I really haven't followed much on B&W2, but I'll more than likely buy it when it comes out. If it's anything like the first, it should be decent atleast.

Can't wait til it comes out. So far the release date is TBA 2005, so eh...

I'm really looking forward to it though.

I loved the fist one (except for the bug that shrunk your creature at the end of the game ). I was stoked about the second one, but forgot about it because it's taken so long to develop.

It looks like an awesome game. I'm really hoping they don't screw the game up by making you focus on combat. The addition will be cool, but I don't want it turning into a RTS game.

i couldnot get into the first one. seems like i spent too much time micromanageing and that stupid creature never did what i wanted

Lot of the faults in the first one they are supposedly addressing. The point they're really tryin to drive through this time is that your creature is either an automoton (which some people might like, as he gets this way through you tellin him how to do everything or to attack everything) or ya let him be free (by tellin the creature not to attack or just leavin it be).

Molyneux (sp?) said that you'll be able to directly control him more efficiently this time. For what i saw, a lot of the game focuses on city building, so the peaceful elements are certainly still there... but i agree, it would be nice to have a peaceful game when ya don't want to fight.

All combat supposedly centers around a leader unit (think, joan of arc style) which you'll also be able to control last i heard. There will be swords, bows, and siege weaponary... and no you can't take down walls with swords and bows. Your creature is either the biggest and meanest unit in your army or the biggest support unit in your military. Supposedly keeping the world healthy will be easier as well (IE, keeping forests and livestock growing)... and the spells to be had are more terrific. (Hurricanes and volcanos and such)

All that ^ crap for all of you who haven't been following it :p

Personally, i'm lookin forward to it... also had mixed feeling about the first one. My fav thing to do in the first one was to make massive cities and just watch the people live. (Not as boring as one might think.)

For me nothing quite beat killing everyone in an enemy god's town, then sending a diciple missionary to take it over for me. I loved to be evil.  :D

I really enjoyed the IDEA behind the first one. Every concept was really a good, new, and fun idea.

The implementation was lacking. There were bugs, and quite a few. Things didn't work right a lot of the time. Some things were tedious, and the game wasn't balanced at all. The single player was too short, and lacked a lot.

But thats just my opinion. Overall, I am extremely excited about the new game. If they implement it well, it could be very fun.

Loved the first one although I never finished it, bought the expansion pack and never played it. However, I am eagerly awaiting the second one, or have been for quite awhile at least. I just like what they did they made it very fun and addicting, the damn creature never did what I wanted it to though, that was the only annoying part. This one looks like it has a lot more added to it, and on top of that looks pretty nice(graphics-wise_, so it looks to be pretty promising. Unfortunately it will probably turn out that I'll end up not having the time to play it and will miss out. Either way I'll buy it and hopefully play the crap out of it.

So long as I can still train the monkey to fling poo into the enemy food stores, it's all good. :D

And weild a knife. Black and White 2 will be nothing if it does not include, feces flinging and monkey knife fights.

"Curious george what have they done to you!"

I'm having trouble finding how they're going to balance the armies you can create. If I'm a god, and I have omnipotent powers, I can crush an entire army in one great flame. Sooo... how are they going to balance all the effort you have to put into creating huge armies, and the ease at which you should be able to kill them?

Personally, I wish they'd just leave it as the townsfolk automatically create armies and send them out once in a while. That way when you stomp them it doesn't affect the other town so much.

Not all vision of gods are as omnipotent beings. Look into Greeks, ancient Egyptian, Hindu, or Chinese mythologies, and the gods are often fallable.

I remember whipping and spanking my monkey.
Also that dance the monkey led with the people was funny.

I realize that.

I'm talking about how it was in the first game, and how Peter Moleneux said he wanted the player to feel. He said he wants the player to feel more as though he/she is a god this time around.

I'm just really skeptical of the RTS element they are adding. It could be way too easy for them to get too wrapped up in it. I feel as though it should be a small part of the game, not a focal point.

Here's to hoping.

While were on the subject of Black and White I'mw ondering what yuor guys favorite animal to use was.

I think I cheated and went through every animal after I gave up on the game (bugs and stuff) and my favorite was the tiger.

Ya ok ... his name is Furious George on the Simpsons. Copyrights be damned!

I have used the tiger in the past. I just installed it now though and felt like going with a change, so I chose the end all-be all of animals:

the cow :D

I reinstalled B&W patched and all and it only crashes every great once in a while so I'm hooked again but man I really want B&W2. Thats one thing we can all thank PM for, the guy thinks of the most original game ideas ever.
I really like rts games and if its a 50/50 thing in B&W2 that would rock.
PM is working with a top rts maker so I think were going to have our first rts that you have to think before you do something hehe. The physics of B&W2 is the thing that has me so hyped about, I mean think about the rts battles on top of montains! :)
