First, All LCD displays exhibit ghosting. It is a product of the technology. The amount and noticability of this ghost image is variable. If you really look for it you can see it on every screen.

It is just a matter of finding the color tones that your specific model has the hardest time shifting between. If you find these colors and then switch between them quickly, you will see ghosting.

Now my question is why do some screens like the Dell 2405 exhibit White ghost images, and other screens like the Westinghouse 37w3 or samsung 244t exhibit Black ghost images?

I have had 6 different LCD monitors and they all have fallen into one of these two catagories, I was wondering if anyone had any insight into what makes these display different ghost images?

Maybe it is differences in overdrive implementations or DSP implementation.

I'll tell you one thing, black ghosting is much more difficult to see in games.

My monitors and their ghost image colors:
244t: Black
2405 x 2: White
benq fp91g+ x 2: Black
Westy 37w3: Black
