Does anyone know if there is a black touch-up paint that will match the TJ09? I am probably going to buy one used to alleviate some cost, but if there are minor scratches I'd like to fix them with a paint of some sort.

Does anyone here have experience doing this? I was thinking that those scratch touch-up applicators for a vehicle would work if I could find a good match.

Thats going to be pretty though considering 95% of the TJ09 Is brushed aluminum, which would show any touch up, the only flat black is in some of the insides of the case.

There is no paint over brushed aluminum, its just that brushed aluminum. If you painted over the brushed aluminum then then yeah, Im sure you can touch it up no problem. But I think you mean the finish that the Tj09 has, which is black brushed aluminum. In the picture Ive enclosed you can see the grain that brushed aluminum has, hence the "Brushed" In touching up a scratch with paint, you would notice it because you would be eliminating the brushed pattern in the scratched area. In the picture you can see the etch, now if you touched up that etch with paint what would you see? That same image in black because it would stand out against the pattern of the brush. Hopefully the scratches are small so it wont be as noticeable, You can defiantly try, but like I said before Its going to be though. Also I think Ockie had a Tj09 for sale for pretty cheap, might want to think about asking him if its still for sale, if there are too many scratches on the case you intend to buy.

I'm almost a 100% positive it has ano on it

Only cheap companies use paint on aluminum if it isn't a bare brushed finish

Look on ebay for Armature dye ... you might be able to hide the scratch with that

Most slot car places carry it

You might be able to cover up the scratches with it

Permanent markers tend to work the best.

Other options would be to get an annodizing touchup kit, but realisitcally, you could buy a couple brand new tj09's for the price of a decen tkit.

Here's a link to the site with the dye

Ockie has a good idea with a permanent marker if you haven't tried that yet

Will this dye interfere or react with the current ano on the case? I don't want to mess up a whole area by simply trying to reduce the appearance of a scratch. I may try using a dark permanent marker too - maybe that will help and be easier, but I don't want it to look like garbage either.
