Got FRAPS to catch it. Forgive the crappy quality I only used movie maker to make a quick vid from it.

At 1:43 and 3:05 you see the screen flash black. You can still see a slightly greyed box where the console would be, and you can still see the colors and triangles of peoples names.

Drivers are up to date. It has done this through all driver versions i've used. This issue even persists after a reformat.

Despite my awesome rig in my sig  its not what I use for gaming.

My gaming rig is:

i7 920 stock speed
ASRock x58 Extreme
6GB OCZ gold forget speed off hand
EVGA GTX260
1TB HD
Windows 7 64bit

This is the only game I have trouble with this. You wouldnt believe how often this happens at the WORST possible times!

Hi. I had that exact same problem. Go to my documents folder, bfbc2, and open the "settings" file. change bloom from true to false. or "Bloom=false". hope that helps!

if drivers didnt fix it.. reformat didnt fix it then the problem is probably hardware related.. do the drivers ever crash when the flickering happens? only other thing id say is try stress testing the system.. also try memtest86 see if those pick up any issues as well.. since BC2 is one of the few games that actually puts a pretty decent load on the entire system then stress testing would probably be the best option..

or try auasian's suggestion since he beat me to it :p

I need to get me a copy of that Windows 34 256bit EPIC Edition, hope the drivers are mature though :)

I had flickering screen a few weeks ago only when the steam window would be open. Then the video card died. I'm not saying your video card is nearing its life, but I would check for temp.

If only in BF2 and not other games then try the suggestion of the second poster.

IMO its not a hardware issue at all given that its not affecting everything on the screen. (the position arrows are still clearly on the screen, its just everything else is blacked out. Not to mention he got FRAPS to capture it)

Jared, did turning off Bloom help?

I have the same problem in BC2. Whenever I'm in a tank and a rocket hits me, my screen flickers black.

Sorry guys, i posted this in the general gaming forum too. The 2nd poster in this thread had the answer. It was the bloom.

Thanks!
