System is in my sig. After I boot up, and am on the windows desktop for say 30 seconds or so, the screen goes black. I can sit and wait and it will come back on sometimes taking 10sec sometimes a minute. This also happens if I leave the computer on and just turn off the monitor. When I turn it back on same thing happens. I have used different drivers but same problem. Any solutions to this?

Could it be a problem with the cable running to your screen? Have you checked the BIOS to make sure you don't have the integrated graphics somehow turned on?

Cable seems good. Are you refering to the hd 3000 graphics on the 2700k? I did not think on my mobo is needed to be disabled.

I know with my mobo it needed it, but I am running on an X58 setup. Sounded like a driver conflict, possibly, or something corrupted. If it goes through POST, then it is something with Windows, or a BIOS setting, most likely, unless your graphics card is going toast.

I was thinking something in windows but not sure what. Once it goes through the cycle of going black then coming back on I have no issues after that with anything until the next reboot. It also does not happen everytime but probably 80% of the time. I also never have a problem actually getting to the windows desktop it's just shortly after that I have the black screen.
