Black Ops getting mod tools.

I remember the Unreal Tournament mod "Tactical Ops" ahh... those were the days!

Step in the right direction but will the community really care at this point? And no level editor would be sad.

nice to see, but as has already been said there's no way a level editor will be included. it just wouldn't make any since considering map pack DLC's are part of their business model. it will be interesting to see what's included what fun things the community can do with it.

Grab the nuke gameplay anyone? AC130 claymore gun mods?

This would've been exciting news 8 months ago

I think that is why they are just now releasing it. They already made money off the dlc content, now it's time to see what the community can come up with that they can just "use" in another game.

tacops was my FIRST ever online shooter... hell i started played it the day i got my athlon 1.4ghz, wich was also the day i got internet for the first time at home!

Only wish we had a no-bullshit, no-gimmick CS-like game with the arcade feel of tacops....

Nothing will stop the reign of 24/7 Noobtown servers. Map packs and mod tools seem completely pointless because of that one goddamned map.

Truth. I'm not a fan of BlOps in anyway, but that map in particular just fails. Nothing like having the enemy spawn in the garden right behind you while you're trying to shoot across the street

That map is great.....for those with ADD and the lack of critical thinking skills.

What!? Mod tools?? But then how are they going to milk the community for every little thing they create. Maybe they'll start charging people for mods that OTHER people make with the tools, yea thats sounds characteristic of them!

Had they announced this six months ago and it had a level editor, I would have bought Black Ops.

Doesn't Valve already do this with TF2 and the "Mann-Conomy"?

the reason nuketown/firing range are so popular is because the other maps in black ops are way too big. if they had allowed more players to be on each team those maps would have been great but i would rather have people spawning behind me then have me run around for 4-5 minutes and never see anyone because everyones doing that circling each other on a huge ass map in the jungle.

Nuketown is way too small of a map. The only thing that people do on there is play angles. There is no skill, tactics, or decent spawns on that game. If all you want to do is kill a bunch of stuff, just play single player... That's basically what you are already doing.

Truth. 18 players on that map is just rediculous. I think the main reason people like 24/7 Nuketown games is just to level/prestige up quicker with really fast and pretty much mindless action.
