Hey guys,
I recently purchased a QX6850 (Intel deal), and well...I'm still waiting for the rest of my build to arrive to do some testing, however I noticed the processor has these almost "burnt" looking lines on it.

Is this something common? Should I be worrying about it?

my qx looked pretty much the same, acually worse but it works great.

so you should be safe.
 
Woo! That's a tad reassuring. I have to admit, i'm very pessimistic when it comes to electronics, i've got bruuuuuuuutal luck.
 
Yeah most intel chips come from the factory with a varied amount of scuffing on the heatspreader. It comes from the final testing and QA phase before they are packaged for retail or tray (bulk) sales.

Nothing at all to be concerned about...
