I have had my Hyundai L90d+ for going on 5 years now. It was one of the first low latency 19" LCD's and I really liked it when I got it for gaming. (FarCry looked amazing on my 6800).
Now something I have noticed and it's slowly bothered me more and more over the years is that you can see the backlighting mechanism in dim lighting.
There are 2 distinct "bars" of light.
The other problem is when playing games that have "night time" or dark interiors, it can be very difficult to determine what is happening. The same properties are exhibited when watching DVD's. It's like all the detail of the picture is lost.
So I have decided now that it is time to upgrade to a widescreen LCD, but I want to avoid having these two problems return.
Is there anything in the 20-22" range that has been improved since 5 years ago in these departments?
