Turkey time is here and that means stores will open at weird hours to give you, us great deals. Case in point comp USA will open at midnight Wednesday for their midnight madness sale. Normaly you could buy a lan boy mini tower for $89 but during their sale it will be $36 so get get out there all you modders and save yourselves some bucks. I don't where the term black friday comes from but thats what the day after thanksgiving is called for retailers.

Black Friday, it's like going to the Zoo except you're actually in CompUSA and the animals smell worse.
 
compusa has a horrible selection. .. fry's isnt much better when it comes to prices, but they have a decent stock
 
I'll just be getting all my stuff from the e-tailers that do BF. :D I hate lines.
 
Just get some popcorn and sit and watch all the other people on Black Friday. Where else can you see a 65 year old lady knock out a 35 year old man with an elbow to the face in order to get the last [Insert on sale item here] ?

good thing i dont get my starting schedule at fry's TILL friday :D . I will just have to restock the dam store after we all clean it out. . anyone know if fry's has released a BF listing?
 
I work noon to midnight on Black Friday. It's going to lick goat balls.
 
I work 6-1:30....in a non-retail setting.


I'll be out ahead of time though for my shopping...



Hopefully there are enough idiots in this town that will look at the ads and see that CC has lower prices, and go there instead of BB...or that it'll be cold enough that no one wants to come in too early.
 
I sure don't miss working retail. I'll be sitting on my fat rear end watching TV or gaming all day Friday :D

It's just a part time thing for extra cash. Plus the discount is nice. I've got another regular job that pays alot more.

I just called compUSA and they said that the Superlanboy mini ISN"T on sale... it IS $89.99

The way CompUSA sales work, it won't go onsale until a certain period of time. They've been doing this sale of the hour crap. So during a certain window of hours the sale is on. After that, it goes back up to full price.

Rule #1: Do not go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving for anything except beer or cigs.

Rule #2: Do not go shopping on the day after Christmas for anything except beer or cigs.

Rule #3: Do not go shopping on the day after New Years Day for anything except beer or cigs.

Seriously. I don't really understand why people do it. For all the hassle it is I'd rather spend the extra and buy stuff on another day. You're not really saving that much.

I'm 23 and I learned this is the truth years ago. I'm enjoying my 4 day weekend sleeping in and getting paid for it. No gonna do anything but eat, sleep, game, mod, and "other stuff" with wife. Most of the stuff on sale I can get online for about the same price or it is just crap I don't need. Black Friday has become too stressful nowadays.

Agreed.
Almost all of it is after rebate sales. The stores are counting on consumers forgetting to send in the rebate before a set date or not including the UPC or some little detail that makes the rebate invalid. I imagine a very large number of shoppers don't send the rebates in and get their money back. If everyone actually sent in the rebate forms and got the money back, there would be no "Black Friday."
 
it was pure crap for the most part. Basically just an excuse to throw out all the cheap electronics they couldn't sell at what seemed to be bargain prices.
 
I'm just wondering.......did the OP use a dremel for this mod, or some other tool to do the cuts??? :rolleyes:
 
What is black friday?

Well way back when computers didnt eixst, companies' Accountants used books. And when they were in the "Red" they were negative in the digits. But they call it black friday because thats they day most companies go back positive (Positive = Black Ink, Neg = Red).....or so I'm told...
 
The best part about the running of the bulls, wopps, black friday, is watching the vast arrary of ethnicities trampling each other for great deals on material objects which bring nothing but problems.

It's called Black Friday because is is supposedly the day that all retailers go back in the black(make a profit.)
