Guys, now is the time upgrade. Looks like some decent quality stuff this year!

If you are going to splurge, which one are you going after and why?

Gotta love Black Friday!

If you are going to make a thread like this, and ask what others are going for, what about other stores?

22" Westinghouse LCD Widescreen $167 - Target

Ah yeah sorry! I was just excited that Best Buy and Circuit City got posted.

The Westinghouse is tempting but I think I'd rather have an Acer over a Westinghouse.

I am eying the samsungs, though.

Lots of posts in the thread for it from target about people who bought it last year during BF from BB for $199 and still use it, and love it. Plus, who wants to wait for $60 in a rebate?

Yes I know that. But hell its better than that Chinme... how ever that Chinese lcd is spelled. The Office Max lcd....

Best Buy will have the 47" 1080p Westy for $1299.99. Not bad. I might jump on that one for my room. I just bought a 40" Sony for the living room and that's were it's going to stay. But the Westy could sit in my bed room.

:D

Wow, usually you would NEVER be able to find me out on Black Friday because I hate people so much. But I'm gonna get my hands on like 3 of those Westinghouses.:D

I have to admit, after seeing TN panels other ones side by side, I realized the only reason I'd use a TN panel is because of the speed, and otherwise they're inferior.

But then, I see 22" for $169, and my eyes light up a little bit, and a part of me that once died inside comes back to life. If I had money, I'd probably choose one of those 22", and buy 3 of them. Or heck, even two. For $320, that would probably be a sweet setup.

The Soyo? Chimei is the maker of the Westinghouse panels and AU Optronics produces the Soyo panels. That Dell is TN while the Soyo is P-MVA so, no, it doesn't beat it and costs $100 more.

To be on topic: The Soyo is $250 on BF.

The 2407WFP and E248WFP are very different animals....that $399 price is about right and maybe even a little too high considering the TN panel and lack of features.

Can any post a list to all displays available that we know of so far? I'm especially looking for 1080p or better 40+ inch ones. Thanks!

Best Buy: Mitsubishi 65" 1080p DLP Projection HDTV for $1499.99

I wonder how long these will last

Anyone shop at HHGREGG???

I've never heard of them and I live in Chicago.

I'm interested in a handful of displays here, but I don't have a deadsite on any one of them
The Westinghouse at Target looks nice and If i remember correctly last BF Westinghouse had a deal like that and they were pretty good, but since I do have money this year I do want the most.
The Sammy at BB is pretty much my last item (funny as its probably the best....)
I'm interested in the Envision 19" (H19W) for its price and the fact that I'm being pushed to guy a gfx card I really don't need
current card 9600 SE

I'm in for any of the 22" LCDs, preferably the Westinghouse 22" - I got 1 westinghouse 22" last year at black friday for 200, now they're even cheaper! :D

hey~ i don't see Envision 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor $99.99
on bestbuy deal? is it still available?

Anyone have some stats and/or speculation on the quality of that 42" 1080p HP monitor?

I /think/ its probably this one: http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...derflow=1&product_code=RP849AA#ABA&catLevel=2

How good is the panel? Would it be overall better quality than the Westinghouse 42"? How about the Westy 47, which is also on Black Friday sale?

Edit: Not sure if it would be better than the Westy, but I've been reading some pretty bad reviews. Bah.

Anyone have some data on this http://bfads.net/Sharp-Aquos-46-1080p-LCD-HDTV-LC46D64U-at-Circuit-City Instead?

I just need a craptastic new secondary monitor. The 10 year old 15" CRT I am using finally crapped out this week. It turns completely green after 5 min. I just want something 'decent'...which for my secondary monitor can be pretty bad. I like that 99 dollar deal at BB but I am leaning toward that Acer at CC...

Anyone know the specs?

have you guys checked the best buy ad on the samsung 22inch lcd monitor?

they advertise its model as 220WM, instead of the 2220WM ......typo? or just a crazy ass monitor?

also say it is the 2220WM, is it worth buying over the westinghouse?

I want to know if that 24" Samsung at Circuit City is any good, but it seems like they've taken every LCD off their website for some reason. Any chance this is it?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...=product&tab=1&id=1176506660294#productdetail

It seems probable, but that one doesn't list HD anywhere which is specifically mentioned at Circuit City. I want the cheapest possible monitor I can get that has composite or s-video input to be able to play console games.

Westinghouse 47" 1080p LCD HDTV $1299.99

Damn, that's $200 less than i paid earlier this year. Great deal. free shipping too.

anyone pick the samsung 220wm up from BB? i just got one, wondering if its any good for the money. Im big a gaming, so i hope its good. someone lemme know if this monitor is good or not before i start assembly. thanks.
