Hello, I just got a Samsung 225BW monitor today and I love it excep for the fact that if i go above 1280 x 1024, there is about 2 inches of black space in between the sides of the monitor and the image itself. Its on my Radeon 9800 (if that has anything to do with it). and I really cant stand 1280 x 768 so i need to fix this.

any suggestions?

The 225BW runs natively at 1680x1050; however, according to this your 9800 does not support it.

I am not informative on what the latest drivers may allow your card to handle so you may or may not be out of luck.

He should still be able to create it as a custom resolution with powerstrip or something, i did that with a tnt2 so i'm sure a 9800 can also. But black borders on the sides must mean you are trying 4x3 resolutions, which are supposed to look that way on a ws monitor unless you manually stretch it to fit the screen.
