Bizarre MS Word Ribbon is Stuck

I am trying to fix this but I'm getting stuck at every turn. This is not my PC it belongs to a business associate hundreds of miles away. I can't use TeamViewer or similar as the policy is that he can't install that type of software on an office computer. He says that this is MS Word 2010 but that is emphatically not the Ribbon. I have tried duplicating this on my MS Word 2016 with no luck, I can never make the top bar look like this. Does anyone know how to restore the normal Ribbon to this, as I'm stumped! If he clicks on the "View" menu item does the ribbon appear? And if so, is there a "pin" on the far right of the screen that he can click to make the ribbon stay?
