Got my ATC-S4000 case and have started making the modification stated here:

there is another thing though. originaly I was planing to have my rad externall however there is room to mount it vertically with some cutting (this includes the shroud and fans with around 2cm's clearance before hitting the mobo tray.

Opinions on this, I dont think the 120mm front intake fan will be needed in this case allthough the Hard drives should stay cool enough with air being pulled accross them. Iam also worried I wont be able to balance the airflow as there will only be one 120mm exhaust. Note all the fans are panaflo 120mm x 38mm high speed.

I'd put it on the inside if I were you...............much cleaner looking also.. I think you're going a bit overboard on the fans though, the mediums should be more than enough.
 
i have a BIP 120.3 mounted to the top of the inside of my case
I am only running 2 fans on it @ 48 cfm each and its more than enough to cool the cpu

I only went for the high speed due to the RPM monitoring and also they were much better at lower voltages than the medium speed panaflo. Note that the rad is position vertically between the hard drives and mobo.

Another idea is that do I actually need exhaust fans assuming the whole of the back is cut out and free flowing?

Or I have the 120mm exhaust together with the PSU 120mm and a 120mm blower (lian-li one I think, any specs on this?

Correct me if Iam wrong but dont I need an equivalent exhaust airflow to take care of the radiator fans i.e. 100CFM(via rad fans) into the case then 100CFM exhaust (via exhaust fans)
 
that case is so big, there are so many methods of mounting a 120.3 radiator without resorting to mounting on the outside...
