Bitfenix Pandora

For M-ATX it would count I feel as the Silverstone TJ08-E is around that size as well. However, the only fully-featured M-ATX case I would consider as true SFF is Silverstone's SG10 at 23L. I think the general consensus for the hardcore SFF enthusiast is <15L or so in volume probably. For me personally, <13L (Ncase M1 or below) are true SFF cases.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Bitfenix's internal layout. You can see Hardware Canuck's video review of it. The build quality of the aluminum panels has some rough edges and leaves more to be desired. If you are only going to run one GPU, I see little reason to run M-ATX at all. I personally think they need to make M-ATX (5 slots max) and have enthusiast/higher end motherboards' layout like the g1 sniper m-atx board so that there is breathing room (one slot space) for non-reference cards (not everybody wants to spend dough to watercool their GPUs).

The Pandora is 31.2L, TJ08-E is 30.2L, and personally I don't consider any of them as being SFF.

One truly SFF M-ATX case is Aibohphobia's Nova, at 16.5L.

Edit: I'm an idiot. The M1 is 12.59L.
 
Nova is 16.8L now.

M1 is 12.6L but that is excluding the feet and the flange for expansion card retention bracket (Nova is measured the same way)
 
I like the design and would definitely pick this if I needed a 5-slot MATX case today. I think I'd still pick this over both the SG10 and TJ08E if I didn't need the 5th slot due to the narrower width and aluminum panels.

Would be nice if the logo display can be reprogrammed for stats.

In the comments they do say Bitfenix delayed production to fix some of the issues mentioned in the review.

It's interesting to see how the design of the case evolved from a mini-ITX case into its current form. The claim is made in the review that the size of the case didn't increase in the change from mini-ITX to mATX, which I find very hard to believe, if the early mockups are anything to go by. If it truly didn't increase in size, than it would've been quite large for an ITX case.

Anyway, for the production version, I wonder why the body panels sit so low relative to the frame itself. You can't even see the feet when the panels are on. That can't be good for the PSU.

Hehe, yeah I know; I was just commenting on what was said about acceptable volume for being considered an SFF case, where both m-atx and itx was mentioned. :)

(And for some reason I first thought the M1 was larger than 13L, but corrected myself with a dunce hat.)
 
This is off-topic, but I wonder if anybody here has attempted to make Machupo's and others design dimensional changes to the Neutronium v4 at < 3.85L:

300mm (W) x 52mm (H) x 245mm (3.82L).
  • The pros of this would allow for longer GPUs (but I don't know of any better GPUs than a GTX 670 that are less than 10" long) and maintaining the width of the case at ~12".

360mm (W) x 52mm (H) x 185mm (3.46L).
  • The pros of this would be a smaller volume and a generally cleaner build. But a minus would be the remaining constraint to ~7" GPUs.
