Anyone else notice that 5770s are selling for more USED on ebay and amazon than newegg has them brand new?

Stupidity is taking over.

man i wish my house wasn't on a slab. I would love to just toss everything into the basement. All Problem solved like.

Or live in a place with free electric. :D

I'm currently running 2 portable AC units and Central Air against 24 58xx/68xx cards. I'm even running miners on my 'spare' Nvidia and CPUs.

It's actually TOO COLD here now. It's was a toasty 92 degrees outside this afternoon. :p

Any one in btcguild keep track of round times? This round is going on 3 hours 0.o! I don't recall ever seeing a round that long.

Posting in this thread so I can come back when all the people who spent $xxx building farms this week come crying about how something went wrong xD

What flags are you guys using on a 6850? I am using -v -w 128 and get about 195 Mhash/second on stock. Anyone get higher without OC?

add another x to that. :D

Have 30 days to try it out. If it doesn't work out i can return everything for 15%. small risk large pay off IMHO

Gunna get kicked out drawing 5kw like that.

Haha.. I'm pulling WAY more then 5kw. Just the 2 portable AC are pulling over 3kw.

I have 2 ESXI servers totaling over 100TB of storage here right next to my rigs. These mining rigs don't even show up on their radar. :D

what flags do we add to remove the lag?
thanks!

You mean lag in the browser?

-f is used to give priority. The lower the number the more priority is given to the guiminer. -f 1 gives it the highest priority and will show some lag on your pc. -f 30 is default. -f 60 is pretty smooth.

So my bitcoin address changed. I had no idea it did that. I paid out on btcguild. So did I just lose 1 BTC?

I have the transaction ID and all the info from the payout. Anything I can do?

Its fine. The thing likes to change your address all the time, but the old one still works. Watch your client and it will show up shortly.

Open your bitcoin client (the actual app, not the miner gui) and click on the Address book, on the window that pops up click the receiving tab, voila!
The ID changes to increase your anonymity and for your convenience so you know where payments are coming from. You could for example have 1 address for each pool you are in, etc. etc.

Unfortunately this isn't like a real gold rush, there's not massive area to be prospected and profit for all. In fact it's more like an inverse gold rush, where ever decreasing amounts of value will be uncovered and every additional searcher makes those nuggets harder to find for everyone.

Right now there's only 6.5m bitcoins out there, in terms of a liquid currency that's nothing. If bitcoin actually got popular, there wouldn't be enough bitcoins to let them do anything. 6.5m, that's like .01BTC for every facebook member. I think this will keep it from ever truly taking off.

Sweet spendbitcoins has been updated and you can now shop at newegg through them.
http://spendbitcoins.com/

IMO this is THE site to bet on. He uses the previous 24 hour average, so you can always get more for your coins if you time things right. As of this typing he offers $20.10 per coin while Mt.Gox has 'em at $19.20.

Get ready.

anyone having problems with mtgox.com today? I keep getting

Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): The server refused the connection.

Now it's:

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

All of the high profile bitcoin pools and exchange sites are under sporadic DDOS attacks. This has been going on for a month if not longer and will continue.

I think the slush pool is fixed because now they make you eneter all of the ip adresses that your miners will run on. They can just block any unknown adresses. I guess the web front end could still get DDoSed.

As above.
Have searched here:
explorer %APPDATA%\BitCoin

But there is no Bitcoin folder there. I have ~8 coins showing up in the miner, but no wallet! Help? Windows 7 x64 with guiminer.

Should be username\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin

^Not showing up. Halp!
Ok, major facepalm. Had forgotten to install the original BTC client. Did so, got an address and updated in BTCGuild. Correct?

anybody having any luck with namecoins? I mined a block a day ago but no luck since the difficulty change. Eh, I guess I will just stick with the soloing, since a namecoin block is worth 1.5 BTC or about 3 days of BTC mining.... Mainly wondering if the difficulty change changed the average to be more than 3 days @ 370 KH

Yeah sounds right. Then you'd do a payout from the BTCGuild site and it will eventually show up in your bitcoin client.
