For christmas i wanted to buidl a computer for the first time.instead i got a gay compaq with a mobo that didnt even support the speed of the cpu in it.

I took the cpu,hd,monitor,cd drives,and memory and built what is in my sig now.

my b-day is in a few days and i wanted to do more upgrading.

my dad thinks im not appreciating what they got me. i said its the nature of computers to upgrade. it's my b-day.

me-whats the difference of me upgrading and you getting new lenses for your camera or mom getting more jewlry.

this is after a long arguement. I was going to get a new DFI mobo, cpu, and vid card (pci-e)
I understand the whol thing maybe it costs too much. Sure everybody understands that. (BTW I was goin to pay for liek half the stuff) but no he just flat out says I havn't enjoyed what I have. WTF? I just want to get better stuff for my freakin b-day. He really doesn't get it does he.

If I'm missing somthing please tell me.

Also I had sgrred with my mom just to get a new graphics card. BFG 6800 128mb agp. FIne with me b/c I love my computer anyways. And he keeps saying how I don't apreciate this stuff.

He just ruined my 16 b-day. I don't want anything else justa freakin graphics card. Is that so much to ask for when you have the money? And my grandma said she woul buy it (nice grandman but I wont let her). Even if she did and I put it in he would probably ground me. I should send a worm through the network to his comp which is mine really anyways.
 
I would just be thankful for what you have maybe? It took me over 3 1/2 years to get the PC in my sig.
 
What the hell? Listen to and respect your parents. Because your dad may not understand the ways of a computer user, I still don't think it's right to blatantly just toss out what you have... at least let him know WHY you are doing the upgrade... perhaps he has another reason for this? Warranty perhaps? Doesn't want you to destroy your pc? Be thankful for what you have... it looks like it's a nice PC if it had that CD drive and CPU!
 
I am thankful. The first computer I got was a p100 and I kept it for 6years. I got an emac after that witha 1600+ and 128mb ram with 32mb intergrated. I got this finally this christmas. Instead of game systems I decided tojust do computer games. I still don't see why he wil let me get an iPod and not a graphics card (which is cheaper too).


My mom understands. We came to the conclusiont hat I woudl jsut get the graphics card which thats all I really could need if I needed anything. She doesn't mind that. I'm statisfied with my CPU speed and everything. However My 9600xt has starte dto arifact at the high OC I had. Now it continues to artifact. I will not RMA that. I caused it plus it's not too bad. Jsut a little green or pink in CS:S. Anyways once he came home he got all mad and shit.

Now it's no upgrading and the compaq they got me (which sucked trust me. it locked up trying to start IE and I ahd to reformat it every week while I had it) ahs to be put back together. He has a really bad temper. Keep that in mind. Anything with computers that he doesn't understan then he jsut liek hits it and shit. That of couse doesn't solve the problem. He liek freakin' through a printer cause he couldn't get the scanner to work. Of course he coulda just hit the scan button and not the copy button....LMAO

Actually the emac is mine. My grandma bought it for me. But of couse I would never do that when I would end having to fix it anyways. I'm just mad. My dad is a jerk when he doesn't understand somthing. Then he won't even lsiten to you.

He's nad enough where I coulda sworn my parents woulda gottne divorced. thye almost did actually. Unfortuanatley I inherted a bit of the tmeper but not the high blood pressure. I can neer go off with him and it's really sad. Everytime I try to we get into an argument. And every holiday we get into a big fight. Especially christmas while decorating the tree.
 
holy siht dude, youre lucky youre getting anything for you bday like that, i sure as hell didnt, i paid for my athlon XP by working for BARE MINIMUM WAGE FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER when i was 16(at fucking quiznos, for an insane boss who called me every time someone didnt show up). god, people like you really piss me off, you need to realize that you are NOT entitled to anything just cause you have been around for 16 years, damn. f you want something, get off your ass and go get it.

Wow. I sat here in shock that you would say this... and then threaten your father's machine? Are you dumb, or what? Malicious abuse of a computer system happens to be a felony... not that that apparently matters to you. I have had extremely little faith in today's youth... you have done nothing except confirm my deepest fears and suspicions.

I seriously suggest that you take a step back, look at what you are doing, and grow up.

I hope you father is smart enough to find this thread, and see what you threatened him with, and take appropriate actions.

Wow. You really need to re-arrange your priorities in life, and get a clue.

to understand the meaning of a hard earned dollar...
if you come from a rich family and you're used to getting stuff u want I can understand if you're upset.

If not be greatful you have a pc to begin with

I worked all summer too for eveyrting but the cpu,hd, and cd-roms.

Cutting grass everyday in the summer.

i was building fences and mowing lawns up to when i was 14. grow up and get a job if you have an expensive hobby, like we all do.
