I had to dig a TForce4-AM2 board out if the closet to use while waiting
on an RMA on my main board.
When this board was taken out of service it worked 100%
It's been sitting in it's box untouched for about a year.

When I went to power up. Fans spin but the 2 diagnostic LED's
that indicate normal operation don't light. Manual says no LED's=
Chipset problem.

This occurs when the same PCI-e card the board ran with for over a year
is plugged in. And with a known good alternative PCI-e board.

However, plugging an old PCI video card into 1 of the legacy slots works
fine. Biostar's techs aren't very helpful. They told me to try it in the other
PCI-e slot. Well this board only has one. After that no response from them
I'm looking for help elsewhere.

Can a PCI-e slot or chipset just "go bad" sitting in its box? Or have I
missed something?

Now I'm back to an old Socket A just to have a working machine.

what was wrong with your last board?
try reset the bios to defaults, make pcie the primary video

Onboard audio died.

CMOS reset, PCI-e x16 set as default video, still has black screen.
I'm looking into chipset drivers now.

Thanks
