So I tried to get an accurate reading of my CPU's temperature using MBM5, but I'm getting 127*C?!

I mean, does anyone else here overclocking with the same motherboard? Which program did you use for monitoring the cpu temp in real time? Or if it's with MBM5, what setting did u set it?

cuz obviously 127*C isn't normal reading...

I used the biostar hardware moniter

Yea, I tried fiddling around with Biostar's "Overclk" software... very nice graphic, but has zero documentation how to use.

Does this Overclk software from Biostar apply the overclock in real time? CPUZ detected it in real time, but SP2004 and everything else still detects cpu speed at the old setting.

So I decided to give my Opteron 165 0551 a whirl on overclocking.

I have it at 2.2Ghz and stock voltage. All is well on the temperature, hovering around 43-44*C. However, Core 0 died after a mere 8 minutes and it gives an error to this effect:
"If you get an error mentioning rounding to .5 or .4 and should have been the other, than your memory is "probably" too high, and you need to slow it down."

How do I do that? All I can see that I can change is the voltage on the ram.

I thought you were asking about what program to use to moniter temps. I use hardware moniter, but to overclock i used clockgen, and had it on while priming. Look at the a64 OC guide. It works.

And usually the .5 is less than rounded ... .4 expected or something. You just need to bump the voltage up on Vcore. So from 1.350 it should be bumped to 1.375.
