Biostar M7NCG 400 HELP!

OK guys, I got a new M7NCG 400 Micro ATX mobo from Newegg and installed a mobile 2500 and have had problems setting it up.

The mobo revision is 7.2

The mobo has a jumper called JCLK3 which shows to be a removable jumper in the crappy manual- the problem I have is that jumper is hard soldered closed!

I think this jumper sets the FSB to 100 for recovery after you over do it when overclocking.

I can't get beyond a of 100 after many tries and am wondering if you have this JCLK3 jumper soldered or with a removable jumper.

The exact wording from the manual regarding Jumper JCLK3-

Open==> User Mode (Default) (133/166/200Mhz)

Close==> Safe Mode (100 Mhz)

After closing the jumper to get back into bios after a bad overclock, it says to OPEN the jumper and turn on the system

Pretty sad when you can't upen a requied jumper.

I'm about to remove the hard soldered jumper....
 
Is that the biostar that came bundeld with a Duron 800, if so, that would be the reason to hard lock the bus...

It didn't come with a cpu-

I talked to a rep at Biostar and he said the mobo doesn't support mobile Athlon XPs. I'm going to try and flash an older BIOS to see if that will allow me to adjust my multi.

I did desolder the jumper and install 2 header pins, made no differance.
 
I had one of those boards for a while and it performed great, even when compared to my more expensive Abit motherboard. I overclocked my AthlonXP 2500+ to 3200+ on that board quite easily.
 
i ran my 2500+ mobile in a M7NCG 400 no problem. with the same heatsink/PSU/VGA it OC'd just as well as my NF7-S aside from some memory timing tweaks. for reg bartons and all it wasnt so great because it didnt have the super high volts but mobiles dont need those. the bios should just say unknown amd processor at boot up and show the actual clock under that. pretty sure mine was a 7.2 as well. desoldering that "jumper" was probably worthless as those pinouts are for the older M7NCG, and M7NCG Pro, which used the exact same layout but with the original NF2 chipset that only hit 333 instead of the newer and much more kick ass ultra 400. on the NF2 Ultra400 the hold insert down while you power up thing actually worked every time so biostar took the header off i think. the only jumper i ever had to move on mine was the CMOS reset.
three questions just to clarify...
1. what is the processor defaulting to?
2. are you able to change the multi at all? up or down?
3. are you able to adjust the FSB at all?
 
I just flashed the mobo to an older version of the BIOS that I downloaded from the Biostar Taiwan site and now the Mobile is running at 10X200 - 2ghz-yehhaa!

They must have disable the mobile support in the latest version of the bios (that mine came with).

The Biostar USA site does not have the older Bios files available so head for Taiwan if you have problems.

The Bios File that worked was ncg40906bf.exe -

I think that most Nforce 2 chipsets DO support mobiles, and that was why I was surprised that it wouldn't work (then happy when I figured it out),
