Biostar 6100 problem...

I just got in the parts for my new PC and the mobo is giving me a problem... it is the Biostar TForce 6100... when i plug in the power to the board the LED_DIMM and the LED that supposedly indicates the boards is ready to be powered on is lit... I have only the cpu and ram installed... I have tried swapping sticks of ram... i am stumped here guys I figure it is dead any suggestions?

When you plug power to the board, and the LEDs come on, you really mean when you plug the cord into the back of the power supply................RIGGGGGGHHHHT??!!

well... i was actually using the switch on the psu but i don't see why that would matter...

So when you hit the power button nothing happens? Have you tried to manually jumper the power switch?

i have manually turned the psu on using a wire... but i haven't tried to do that while it was hooked to the mobo... how would i do that? BTW... thanx for the quick respones...

With the power cord unplugged, plug the ATX connecctor to the mobo, then plug your power cord in, flip the switch on the back on, and then take a small screw driver or tweezers and jumper the power pins on the motherboard manually, bypassing the case switch. Does it power on? does your CPU fan spin?

alright i tried that and it didn't work either... this particular mobo has an onboard power switch which doesn't work either...

With power removed, pull the CMOS battery for 10 minutes, reinsert and try to power up again.

i got it to work... one of the standoffs was causing a short on the board... thanx for the help man...
