Okay, i'm no overclokcing noob, been clocking and benching for a while, and i'm beginning to think i have a bad CPU or bad ram which is hindering this boards overclocking prowess... can anyone shed any light on this or share some tips and tricks which mnight help me hit the magical 300 FSB slot with this CPU set...

Rig Specs

3700 San Diego
1gb Corsair XLPT (TCCD)
Biostar 6100-939
Enermax Liberty Modular PSU (500 Watt)
FX55 Stock Cooler (28 idle, 48 load at stock volts)
2 160gb Sata Drives
DVDRW (Nec 4550)

Basically, i've tried the settings with the ram that i know got me 275 on a DFI NF3 board, and i've also tried running the divider and seeing what happens then, (166 divider and the 133 divider)

Basically, i cant get this board to boot anything past 250fsb on a 9 multi, which sucks tbh, i was hoping for a lot more than that FSB wise, i can still clock nicely, but it all seems a little unstable, dont know whats causing the instability, thats what the annoyance is.

I've tried VCore up to 1.6, i've tried memory up to 2.8 (2.7 is the sweet spot for my ram) but i cant find a chipset voltage anywhere.... I've dropped the HT to 3x and that doesnt seem to make a difference, i'm kinda hoping that this is simply a ram issue and i've got it in the wrong slots, i'm currently running it in the 2 orange slots, i tried the 2 greens and that didnt seem to make much of a difference.

I'm on the latest bios from the Biostar website, was hoping to grab that beta bios off someone, see if that made a difference, but the links all appear to have vanished...

Can anyone help? I want the 300+FSB's everyone else is getting.... either that or i knuckle down and wait for teh DFI offering...

Cheers in advance

I have the TForce board Mr Busta... just reflashed the bios to see if i had a dodgey flash, but it hasnt made any difference....

PM Neutraleyes and see if he will post the bios again. It looked like it was that bios or bust.

If you have not already, try HTx3, divider 166 & multi x 8 all at once. Sounds like you have, but just covering all bases.

Are you using the onboard intergrated graphics?

If you are, when you overclock your memory, it also oc's the onboards video memory and causes problems, if you have a cheap graphics card to throw in there, it will solve your problem. There was a thread on this earlier.
:p

Nah, i'm running an X800XL in the PCI-Ex slot...

Well, i've tried every single bios i can get my hands on and it looks like its hitting the wall from something else.

I've dropped the timings on my ram to see if thats the issue, i've tried my BH5 in it, and ramped the voltage as high as it'll go, including moving the jumper for the 3v+ setup...

I'm wondering if its a SATA drive issue, cos i'm seeing some funky boot options occasionally, i reckon the clocking might be knocking my SATA to hell and taking something else with it.

I'm gonna flash back to the bios Mr Busta posted and am gonna install an IDE drive tonight and see if that makes any difference to my clocking... I doubt it, but its worth a try...

Thanks for your help guys, i'll keep you all informed of my progress...

Okay, i've tried everything and it still isnt happening, but from what i can see, it seems i'm having issues with the HT not locking. I might contact Biostar and see if they can shed any light on this.

I've tried all the bioses which are available, and none seem to fix this issue i'm having so it might not be the HT locks...

I'm confused, i just wish that DFI would get their fingers out and release the mATX board they say they have been working on...

If anyone has any ideas, please post them here, i'm desperate for some fsb lovin...
