Where's the 680 and 670 benchmarks if they're going to post 1x 7970 and 7950 results?

I didn't know Titan was based on different architecture from gtx680/670:rolleyes:

Also, by that logic why not post 7770 results instead of 7970 if all we're looking at is architecture? I guess we can then conclude that an ASUS ARES II performs the same as a reference 7950x1
 
You posted something that the actual reviewer said "i'm posting this, but in reality this is meaningless so disregard it, i will be moving to a proper tool".

Titan vs 7970 is about as apples to oranges as ARES II vs 680

Well, I don't mind the Titan being there, but it would have been nice to see the GTX 680 since that is what competes with the HD 7970 (price and performance). And why is the 6990 there? That makes no sense.

That's all I was saying. The numbers are what they are, but wtf @ these comparisons. It's like showing us a 7990 benchmark vs a 680, then a 670... then a 590 at the end

Its showing frame timing, not FPS...all that really matters is single vs dual card configurations anyway.
 
FPS and frame times are intertwined. That aside, it's not any type of info that can be compared. It's still data, though.

Yeah they are, but not in a sense that we care about. We care about the magnitude of the spread of frame timing...not the actual timing between frames...so FPS really doesnt matter.
 
Ok, so why use a last gen comparison for AMD but not for Nvidia?

Youll have to ask the reviewers, but in this particular review i see the top single GPU reference cards from both camps and the top dual GPU reference cards from both camps. I can understand why they wouldnt include the Ares 2, but i wouldnt expect very different results in terms of frame timing spread.

Its like a Woodstock in here, as you can see the 7970 graph the 7990 might end up looking worse than the 6990, since 6990's graph looked better than the single 7970.

You are right, it's not in a sense that we should care about. It depends on how the data is presented though. I've read where people have walked away after reading comparisons between dual GPU and single GPU setups saying the dual GPU had less MS when MS is an AFR phenomenon. It was simply because they were faster.

What can i say some people are stupid. I dont see anything wrong with how this data is presented, but then again i understand what the data presented here is showing.

I'd say gullible rather than stupid. You have to realize that typical consumers don't have much of a knowledge base to see through the rhetoric. They can be lied to, mislead. It's on the people who put out the misleading info, not the people who are mislead by it.

What is AMD doing with this gaming evolved program. Its seems like a giant waste of money if their cards were supposed to be performing better then Nvidia cards.

In both reports, the 7970 ghz edition is performing around the same level as a gtx 670. Titan is making AMD look last gen when it's 50+% faster than a 7970 ghz edition.

I never remembered there being such a difference between AMD flagship and Nvidias.

The gaming evolved program should have given AMD the advantage from the get go. With results like this AMD is truly wasting its money. The gaming evolved program should be associated with superior performance, not free games. Your not going to get gamers to think your cards are superior unless you bring the best performance for these AAA games. Bioshock infinite is undoubtedly the biggest game this year and they messed it up. The same thing has happened with crysis 3 and Tomb raider. All 2013 titles and all running better on Nvidia hardware at the moment.

AMD isn't getting their money's worth like last year such as the performance advantage they got with sleeping dogs, Hitman Absolution or Dirt Showdown.

AMD needs to make their cards faster so we don't get such retarded pricing from Nvidia for their flagship.

The difference between a gtx 580 and 6970 was generally around 10-15 percent and kept Nvidia in line. Now between the 7970 ghz and titan, the difference is close to 40% now with Nvidia newest drivers from what I hear. Its no wonder Nvidia is pricing their cards stupid high, AMD performance is like a generation behind.

Not sabotaging performance, simply getting the game code specialized with their hardware. They did it like crazy last year, with the titles I mentioned and Initially far cry 3.

Right now considering the 7970 ghz edition was typically 20% faster than a gtx 670, the gtx 670 running the same make it seems like the game code is specialized for Nvidia hardware.
