I'm trying to hookup my laptop HD to the desktop PC (using this to hook it up to the second slot) in order to try and recover some data with GetBackData (corrupt windows partition :()
So I hooked it up and everything and the BIOS has the primary master, primary slave, etc. to auto so it auto-detects. I tried booting and it gets to the Windows 98se desktop but then explorer.exe "performs an illegal error" and i have to hard restart. It works find if I don't have the laptop HD connected, though. So I tried going back into the BIOS and there's an option to detect the connected devices so I try that and it detects the primary HD, DVD-ROM drive, and CD-RW drive, but not the laptop HD.
Any ideas?
