OK well I have a second pc in my room consisting of a
asus p5k mobo
4gb no name ddr 2
e6550 core2duo 2.33ghz cpu

I have it overclocked to 3010mhz according to the bios but windows and cpuz only show it at 2.33ghz. Not shure what im doing wrong everest also shows it at 3010mhz

It may be adjusting it's clock speed automatically under load. Do something that causes 100% CPU utilization and then check with cpuz again.

My SB was doing this same thing, you probably have some kind of cpu throttling going on too.

Your chip will clock itself down at idle and this is completely normal.

Contrary to the misinformation floating around it should not have a negative effect on your overclock. It is a good feature and should remain enabled.
