An odd thing just happened.
My bios went on vacation for some reason.....
Here's my rig specs :
Intel Core2 e6600
Asus Striker Extreme
Mushkin XP2-8000 Xtreme Performance Redline ddr2 (2x512)
BFG 8800GTX (main)
ATI Rage something PCI video card ( 2nd monitor)
Silverstone 750 Watt psu
C:WD raptor X (os)
D: (pagefile) WD Raptor 36 GB
e:,f:,g: , 3x WD 500 gb's (data)
h: WD 320 GB IDE (data)
I: LG super multi burner
Matrix Orbital GX Typhoon LCD
Now I've tested the piss outta this rig......I've gotten 3.4 GHZ OC Nooooo problem( I don't normally run OC'd tho) .It's run flawlessly for 6 mos.
Today , I shut it off before work , came back after work , tried to start it , and it wouldnt turn on.Fans and lights yes but no bios even.
The Fix was easy. I had to 'clearcmos' ...once the bios was reset , everything was cool.
Now I've been custom making cables for all my power lines :
During the reconstruction of the 'vga power' lines , I did a couple test runs with 're-used-atx-pins-in-the-connectors' rather than the new ones that are in now.The result was a few boots with the 'no VGA power alarm going off......'
This is the only thing I can think of that might have corrupted the bios......funny thing is I load tested it for 3 days with no problems.
Does anyone know if the 'no VGA power' thing can corrupt the bios ?
Opinions ?
Thank for any input .
