BIOS Issues with Biostar 6100-M9

I made a mistake and bought the M9 instead of the TForce (TForce isn't available in my country as well).

I am not able to POST at anyt FSB above 256MHz regardless of settings/voltage. However, at 256MHz (+0.1V, 2.7V RAM), I could loop 2 instances of both large and small FTT Prime w/o any problems.

I tried to flash the BIOS on the board to the TForce version but it didn't work properly. Although I could set the timings and FSB etc, the Vcore and Vdimm settings didn't work.

Are there any modded versions of the TForce BIOS that have working Vcore and Vdimm on the M9? If not, could the problem be due to the integrated graphics? I was using the onboard rather than a gfx card though. Thus wondering if the onboard crap out at those FSB.

Btw, I am using an Opteron 170 (running 1 instance of small and Large FTT per core). RAM is 2 x 256MB Samsung TCCDs (tested to work at 300MHz 2.85V on Neo2 Plat).

Thanks.

Well at least you tried what I was considering when this board first came out. Too bad it did not work. Unfortunately, if the voltage adjustments do not work, there is not much you can do about it.

I would go back to the M9 bios, assuming there are voltage adjustments on that one and see if the TForce overclocking utility works with your board in Windows. Your board seems to have the same problem that half the TForce's do (mine would not boot past 257).

Slim chance Systool could work:

If all else fails, try a Foxconn. They are good for another 20MHz or so and generally available worldwide.

Dude you just jacked up your mobo... the tforce6100 and the Geforce6100 are made diff. Diff parts, diff reversion, deff construction, diff quallity chips. The Tforce6100 was made for OCing the Geforce was not. Your not going to get more volts out of it. You'll most likly overload a cap or a chip. You can't post a voltage higher then what the parts are going to take. If you can mannage to get passed 300fsb then your caps will prob explode. The Vcore chip in that isn't even made for anything higher then what the Geforce 6100 was made for. It has cheaper caps and chips in them. The Tforce has more expencive parts in them at about the same price. DFI quality btw. And the Geforce6100 has crappier parts because its buget. I should worry about my own board. But thats just plain not thinking.

PS: Ofcorse it didn't work proprly... Wrong bios, 2 totaly diff systems. lol
