BIOS flashing issues - SN45Gv2

So earlier this evening I attempted to flash the BIOS on my (rather new) SN45Gv2, from FN45S00M to FN45S00R. Following the instructions for WinFlash on Shuttle's site (a link that's on my currently-off Shuttle that I saw posted here) I did so. It took the flash fine, but I can't make any changes to any settings without it failing to POST.

I'll flash it, reboot, it'll go into Windows fine, but if I try to make a change to the BIOS (even just the date/time!) it will fail to boot on the next try. Resetting the CMOS via the jumper gets me to where it'll boot again, but I still can't make any changes.

I tried with FN45S00Q as well, and I get the same exact thing.

Any ideas? I'm a bit tired of this right now otherwise I'd try flashing with the BIOS I backed up before I started this ordeal. System specifics in sig.
 
If you don't need any of the features in the new revision I would just go back to the old one. Especially if it worked. Or you can try flashing it again.
 
Ay, but it doesn't work anymore. When I re-flash with it I get the same results as I did with the other two versions I tried.

I'm thinkin' I've got a dead BIOS chip, or something. I sent an email off to Shuttle, we'll see what they say.

I had lots of problems upgrading to it myself. There are some nice upgrades to it. I would never use a windows BIOS updater though. I used the a clean DOS boot floppy and awdflash.exe and the bios. I will warn you though, It will hose your windows install and you need to do a safety recovery. On two machines it did the same thing. It will start to load and the grey bar will fill up and then stop. I had to do a repair install of windows on the 2 SN41G2s I own. I got too much info to format and reinstall at this point. I noticed also my IDE channels changed in EAC and there it lets you know DDR is enabled and more tweaking options in the BIOS. I've been too busy over the holidays to worry about messing with it now. Think going through DOS would fix the issue? I found one other person with the same problem as me on the SFFTech forums, his was an SN41G rather than 45 but they're similar enough. (http://forums.sudhian.com/messageview.aspx?catid=43&threadid=69728&enterthread=y) In his case Shuttle said it was a bad BIOS chip (I'm the last post, as s3r). I can back up and reformat pretty easily thanks to my partitioning, but unless you're pretty sure that might fix my problems I'd rather not go through the trouble.
 
Windows isn't a good place to flash a BIOS. I did it myself and it froze on me at 75% and i was like oh shit. Turns out it needed to do that. Scared me though. Most BIOS flashing is done through DOS and thats really the safest place to do it. So I would give it one last try through DOS and if it still don't work send it back.
 
Ay, if I don't have to go into work I'll probably try it later today, then. Although, I flashed the BIOS on my 8RDA+ and previous A7V333 with the manufacturer's included utilities without fail quite a few times, guess I assumed the program Shuttle suggested would be suitable.
