Asus P5B-E

I think I just killed my BIOS. I performed a BIOS update to the latest version using the Asus Update utility in Windows. It prompted me to reboot after updating the BIOS. After it shut down the PC I can't get back into Windows. Now when I boot it up all of the fans come on and the hard drives turn on but I don't get anything on the display. Not even any of the usual BIOS messages. Just a black screen and the LCD monitor usually goes into power save mode. There is also a green LED on the bottom of the motherboard that stays lit all the time. Is there any way to recover from this?

Well, I fixed it. I went to the Asus site and downloaded the user manual for this board here:
http://support.asus.com/downlo...d.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Then followed the instructions for resetting CMOS. This included removing the battery, disconnecting power and moving the CMOS jumper.

That must have worked because when I powered it back up it booted into Windows.

However, the second time I booted it stated that I had invalid overclocking settings. I reentered BIOS and modified the RAM voltage and timings to manufacturer's specs and had no further issues.

Guess I shouldn't have jumped on the panic button so quickly.
