Bios Flash Botched

my cuz just tried to flash his mobo bios IN windows for some reason and it failed. no post now or anything. what are his options? is he fubar?

Try resetting the CMOS. If that doesn't work, try removing the mobo battery and putting it back in. Then, consider an RMA.

he cleared the cmos. and he's already packed it up for an RMA

wtf board is he using?

most of those "flash from windows" ones ASK you to insert a floppy and make a RESTORE DISK or like MSI have a restore on boot ability.

Tell him to read the manual FFS!

if the board has an isa slot plug a isa video card in, if it only has pci then use a pci video card, boot the system, do you see anything on the screen or does the floppy drive read. if yes then that means the motherboard has bootblock. put the bios file you want to flash on the floppy and put it in the drive and there ya go, fixed motherboard. odds are you fucked it over pretty good and you should just rma it.
