Biggest Videocard jump u ever made

ATI Rage 8mb -> TNT2 Ultra 32MB -> GF2 Ti 64MB DDR -> Soon to be GF4 TI4200 128MB DDR

I HATED the TNT2 Ultra. Buggiest card I'd ever had.

I think each jump is about the same. With the ATI I never played games.

First, from whatever integrated graphics were on my Acer PI 200Mhz to a real3d Starfighter 24MB. (Here is a link to a nice review!)
http://www.gamedownloadsonline.com/hardware/starfighter.shtml)

With my 1st build I went to an AIW 9800 pro. Yeah, needless to say, the jump was pretty damn big. I really can't even compare, since the games I play on the new comp wouldn't even fit on the harddrive of the old comp!

Actually, I could compare with 3Dmark 2000. I get around 750 on the old comp - will check the new one tonight...

Brother's biggest GeForce 3 > 9800pro 128mb

my biggest GeForce4 TI4200 > 9800pro 128mb

I havent made the jump yet but I currently have a Geforce2 GTS and I am planning on picking up a NV40 card when they come out. That will be my jump :)

lol this is funny, 16mb nvidia vanta to a sapphire radeon 9200suckersedition 128mb which isnt much better :rolleyes:

this would have to be from a generic onboard video -> GF2 Ultra

I remember loading up the Quake3 MP Test for the first time. I'm pretty sure i fainted.

CGA -> 256k VGA -> 1MB ISA VGA -> 4MB PCI VGA -> Intel i810 -> TNT2 M64 - > Radeon 7500 AIW -> GFFX 5200 (for a day) -> Radeon 9600pro (for 23 days) -> Radeon 9600XT

I had to wait for the 9600XT to come into stock at my BB then I traded it in via the exchange policy :)

I went from a Cirrus Logic Imagine 128 w/ 4mb ram to a TNT2 Ultra with 32mb
and from there I went to an 8500le

ATI Rage 3D 4 MB SDRAM-------> Trident 4MB SDRAM AGP---------> S3 32MB DDR Built In--------> ATI Radeon 7500 64MB SDRAM-------> AGPTek Geforce FX 5200 128MB DDR----------> ATI Radeon 9700 128MB DDR.

8 MB ATI Rage 128 --> 32 MB Nvidia TNT2 --> 64 MB Nvidia GF2 MX200 --> 64 MB Nvidia GF3 Ti500 --> 128MB ATI 9800 Pro

No name integrated 2 MB video on P1 150 compaq -> ATI Radeon 7200 32MB DDR -> Radeon 9600XT

Unknown onboard on my 386 boxes -> Radeon 7000 32mb on my Duron -> 9600XT on my Athlon.

Palit FX5600 256mb to a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb

:D I am VERY pleased with my new card!

That would be my only jump form video cards I ever made:
3D Rage Pro 8MB ----> XFX Geforce4 MX440 64MB DRR

Not sure how to organize this.. but I think all my cards have been a jump.
Ati All in Wonder pci (8meg edo)->Geforce2 MX 200 (yeah I jumped a whole computer along with the card but its still a jump 200mmx p1->1.8p4)

Geforce2 Mx200->Geforce4 ti4200

the geforce went to the new computer.. so it was a upgrade of:
Geforce2 mx 200 -> 9800 Pro

GeForce2MX -> MSI Geforce4 ti4400 OC'ed to 4600+ speeds. Before that, ISA generic video card to a 4MB Rendivition 2100 PCI card.
