Big Typhoon

I've got a Big Typhoon CL-P0114 heatsink/fan and on Newegg it says it's compatable with Athlon XP/64/FX but nothing about X2 processors. I'm just wondering if it'll work with my 4400+ X2 with a DFI Lanparty Ultra-D.

Yes it will work. Just follow the instructions closely in regards to having a plastic or metal backing plate on your motherboard. I'm using a Big Typhoon with an X2 4800+ at 2.8ghz.

Well, I assume I want the plastic backing on there? Or else it would short everything out, correct? Should be the same setup as with my Athlon XP.

The backing plate comes with the motherboard. Some use a plastic one, some use a metal one with an insulator. I much prefer the metal one as in the case of the Big Typhoon it makes it easier to mount. With the plastic one you have to use some small risers and other hardware. My A8N32-SLI came with a metal backing plate and installation was simple.

Alright. The directions you're talking about are from the Heatsink, right? Hopefully I've still got that somewere. Thanks for the help.
