Can anyone post close up pics of how you mounted your big typhoon.
there seems to be a few ways one can mount this... some use the stock nuts and bolts and others use wing nuts.

Use the stock bolts and nuts, BUT, put the bolts in with the heads to the underside of the mobo. That way you can mount the cooler without removing the mobo. Also that saves you from having to fight the screw heads since you can't reach them from the top because the cooler blocks the head.

I can use a small set of pliers or a small open end wrench on the nuts now, and take the cooler off, no mobo removal needed.

Also you can leave the film on the pad that goes on the backside of the mobo between it and the bracket. That way it does not stick and make a mess if you need to change coolers or something.

I have some pics somewhere, let me see if I can find it...

use whatever you want, it's not going change it's structural integrity

I did mine with the way described above, and is it normal for the HSF to move slightly if you push it? Mine does but seems to be cooling well.

Forgot to mention that this will be going on a naked chip.

Be careful....the Typhoon is LARGE and heavy (relatively) and edge cracking of the chip can happen easier than you think...

And yes, the cooler will still slightly move if you push it....especially with a less sticky TIM on it.....

Well I have AS5 on it and I was just making sure. Temps are great with it though, showing 39C load with my 3000+ @ 2.47GHz Priming for about 40 minutes now...but that's with open case, and fan is only showing about 1350rpms

Perfect!

i used 2 small threaded rods cut to size and screwed into my MSI neo 2 mobo, 2 washers and nuts on top of the bracket and used a small wrench to snug them down, works great for me and i didn't have to remove the mobo to install the BT.

i also found that lapping the BT and applying a real thin layer of artic ceramique worked better than useing the "grain of rice sized drop"
